Forme di occhi – Eye shapes

Ciao a tutti! Oggi vi voglio parlare di forme di occhi! Per semplificare il tutto, ho diviso le categorie secondo cinque diversi parametri: forma, profondità, orientamento, distanza e grandezza. Degli occhi possono appartenere anche a più categorie. Ad esempio, possono essere distanti e allo stesso tempo all’ingiù. Ma vediamo tutte le categorie secondo i parametri che ho citato.

Hello everyone! Today I want to talk to you about eye shapes! To make things easier I put the categories in five different parameters: shape, depth, orientation, distance and size. The eyes can belong to different categories. For example, they can be wide and downturned at the same time. But let’s see all the categories in the parameters that I mentioned.

FORMA – SHAPE

Occhi monopalpebra – Monolid eyes

Questo è il tipo di occhi più facilmente distinguibili. È infatti caratteristico delle persone orientali e non presenta la tipica “piega dell’occhio”  oppure essa è appena accennata. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Lucy Liu.

This is the easier shape to recognize. It is typical of the oriental people and it doesn’t have the famous “crease” (or it is really tiny). An example of VIP with this eye shape is Lucy Liu.

Occhi rotondi – Round eyes

Gli occhi rotondi sono spesso anche grandi e hanno una forma tondeggiante. Sono facili da distinguere proprio per questa loro forma particolare. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Christina Ricci.

Round eyes are usually big too, and they have a rounded shape. They are easy to recognize because of their particular shape. An example of VIP with this eye shape is Christina Ricci.

Occhi a mandorla – Almond eyes

Contrariamente a quello che si pensa, gli occhi a mandorla non corrispondono a quelli orientali, ma sono occhi che anno appunto la forma di una mandorla. In questi occhi parte dell’iride è nascosta dalla palpebra e la piega è visibile ma non troppo alta. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Beyoncé.

Contrary to what most of the people think, almond eyes are not oriental eyes, but they are eyes with an almond shape indeed. In these eyes, part of the iris is hidden from the lid, and the crease is evident but not too high. An example of VIP with this eye shape is Beyoncé.

Occhi incappucciati – Hooded eyes

Gli occhi incappucciati hanno la palpebra un po’ cadente e la piega dell’occhio bassa, a tal punto che la palpebra mobile tende a scomparire e a creare l’effetto “incappucciato”. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Blake Lively.

Hooded eyes have dropping eyelids and low crease, and because of that the eyelid tents to disappear and to create the “hooded” effect. An example of VIP with this eye shape is Blake Lively.

PROFONDITÀ – DEPTH

Occhi infossati – Sunken eyes

Gli occhi infossati sono posizionati più in profondità nel cranio e perciò creano l’illusione di sopracciglia più sporgenti. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Keira Knightley.

Sunken eyes are more deep and because of that they create an illusion of protruding eyebrows. An example of VIP with this eye shape is Keira Knightley.

Occhi sporgenti – Protruding eyes

Gli occhi sporgenti sono solitamente grandi e rotondi, protrudono ed hanno la palpebra mobile piuttosto grande. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Penélope Cruz.

Protruding eyes are usually big and rounded, they protrude and they have a big eyelid. An example of VIP with this eye shape is Penélope Cruz.

ORIENTAMENTO – ORIENTATION

Occhi all’insù – Upturned eyes

Gli occhi all’insù hanno l’angolo esterno rivolto verso l’alto e se si considera una linea orizzontale immaginaria che passa per il centro dell’occhio si noterà che l’angolo esterno è posizionato più in alto rispetto all’angolo interno. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Kim Kardashian.

Upturned eyes have the outer corner pointing upwards, and if you imagine a horizontal line that go through the center of the eye you will notice that the outer corner is higher than the inner corner. An example of VIP with this eye shape is Kim Kardashian.

Occhi all’ingiù – Downturned eyes

Gli occhi all’ingiù sono il contrario di quelli all’insù: essi hanno, infatti, l’angolo esterno posizionato più in basso rispetto a quello interno. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Katie Holmes.

Downturned eyes are the opposite of the upturned eyes: their outer corner is lower than their inner corner. An example of VIP with this eye shape is Katie Holmes.

DISTANZA – DISTANCE

Occhi ravvicinati – Close set eyes 

Gli occhi di questo tipo, come facilmente intuibile, sono posti molto vicini tra di loro (ad una distanza inferiore di un bulbo oculare). Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Jennifer Aniston.

The eyes of this kind, as it’s easy to understand, are really close to each other (they have a shorter distance than an eyeball). An example of VIP with this eye shape is Jennifer Aniston.

Occhi distanti – Wide set eyes

Gli occhi di questo tipo, contrariamente a quelli ravvicinati, sono piuttosto distanti tra loro (ad una distanza maggiore di un bulbo oculare). Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Kate Moss.

This type of eyes is the contrary of close eyes, in fact they are far from each other (they have a longer distance than an eyeball). An example of VIP with this eye shape is Kate Moss.

GRANDEZZA – SIZE

Occhi piccoli – Small eyes

Gli occhi piccoli hanno una dimensione ridotta rispetto al resto del viso. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Taylor Swift.

Small eyes have a reduced size compared to the rest of the face. An example of VIP with this eye shape is Taylor Swift.

Occhi grandi – Big eyes

Gli occhi grandi, al contrario dei precedenti, hanno una dimensione maggiore comparata al resto del viso. Un esempio di VIP con questo tipo di occhi è Mila Kunis.

Big eyes are the opposite of small eyes. In fact, their size is larger compared to the rest of the face. An example of VIP with this eye shape is Mila Kunis.

Questo è tutto per oggi! Spero vi sia stato utile! Volevo ricordarvi che non esistono forme di occhi “più belle” o “più brutte”, ma tutto sta nel valorizzarle al meglio. Sopra vi ho mostrato molte donne con occhi molto diversi tra loro, ma sono tutte bellissime! Ciò dimostra che solo perchè avete gli occhi all’ingiù non dovete disperarvi, poichè questa caratteristica rende lo sguardo più dolce; se avete gli occhi sporgenti non dovete sentirvi a disagio, ma potete divertirvi con più spazio a disposizione per il makeup; se avete gli occhi orientali e vorreste la piega dell’occhio non dovete essere tristi, perchè potete sempre creare un’illusione di piega con il makeup! Insomma, il trucco può aiutarci a valorizzare la forma del nostro occhio, ma a mio parere ogni forma è bella a modo suo ed è ciò che ci rende diversi e particolari! I miei occhi ad esempio hanno una forma a mandorla ma non hanno né particolare distanza né particolare grandezza, ed i vostri? Fatemi sapere con un commento!

That’s all for today! I hope this was helpful! I wanted to remember you that there are not “beautiful” or “ugly” eye shapes, but it’s important to enhance the  beautiful features of every shape. In this post I showed you a lot of really different women, and they are all beautiful! This shows that just because you have downturned eyes you don’t have to be depressed because this feature makes you look sweeter; if you have protruding eyes you don’t have to feel uncomfortable because you can have fun playing with more space for makeup; if you have oriental eyes and you wish you had a crease you don’t have to be sad because you can create the illusion of a crease with makeup! What I wanted to say is that makeup can help us enhance our features, but I think every eye shape is beautiful in its own way and that’s what makes us special and different from each other!
